About Us

Peninsula Gourmet Cooking School is a collaboration between Peninsula Fresh Seafood and Tamara’s Kitchen.

 

Peninsula Fresh Seafood is the place to go to on the Mornington Peninsula for the freshest local seafood. Their aim is to provide customers with access to the freshest seafood available. This journey started some 25 years ago with the establishment of Dromana Bay Mussels, grown, harvested and sold just off Safety Beach. In 2013 and in response to customers constantly asking where they could buy fresh local fish, Peninsula Fresh Seafood was born. Based in Dromana, Peninsula Fresh Seafood cuts tonnes of seafood annually, a lot of which sadly goes to waste as consumers demand bone free fillets for ease of cooking and eating. Much of this waste however can be used to prepare delicious and healthy meals.

 

Tamara’s Kitchen has been offering cooking classes for over 30 years. Originally based in Melbourne, Tamara has taught thousands of students the basics of cooking and how to turn simple ingredients into delicious meals with minimal preparation. Since moving to the Mornington Peninsula in 2011 and founding BoatShed cheese, Tamara has continued to offer cooking classes specialising in cheese making and sourdough bread. She has also assisted husband Geoff, the founder of Peninsula Fresh Seafood, in creating a range of seafood recipes and take-home seafood meals for his customers.

 

 

With Tamara’s knowledge of food and Peninsula Fresh Seafood’s desire to improve the sustainability of our seafood resources, Peninsula Gourmet Cooking School was created to share our knowledge with you.
